Supercapacitors

SCHURTER supercapacitors combine the fast charge and discharge capability of capacitors with the energy storage characteristics of rechargeable batteries. While they offer around 10% of the energy density of batteries, their power density is 10 to 100 times greater, enabling extremely rapid energy delivery, high pulse loads, and a significantly longer cycle life. This makes them ideal wherever quick energy bursts, backup power, or frequent charge/discharge cycles are required.

Available in both ultra-thin prismatic and compact coin cell designs, SCHURTER provides flexible solutions for space-constrained electronics. The prismatic SCPA series, with thicknesses down to just 0.4 mm, delivers high capacitance, very low ESR, and low self-discharge in an exceptionally slim format.

The coin cell series (SCCA for horizontal mounting and SCCC for vertical mounting) supports systems up to 5.5 V with capacitance values from 100 mF to 1,500 mF. These devices feature high power density, low leakage current, and a long operational lifetime, making integration simple and reliable.

SCHURTER supercapacitors are ideally suited for mobile devices, wearables, sensor technology, small power supplies, renewable energy systems, medical devices, memory and RTC backup, battery swap ride-through, LED/audible indicators, and uninterruptible power buffering.
