4462/4466 Rubber Adhesive Polyethylene Foam Tapes

Double coated tape is generally composed of a foam, paper, film, or tissue carrier that is coated on both sides with pressure-sensitive adhesive. 3M's double coated polyethylene foam tape 4462 and 4466 are available in white or black, in 1/32 inch (4462) and 1/16 inch (4466) thicknesses, and have a closed-cell polyethylene foam carrier. They are formulated for more hard-to-bond surfaces, such as rough or irregular surfaces, because they can fill gaps and distribute stress uniformly over the bonded area, speeding up the mounting process and achieving a more aesthetically pleasing installation. The unique rubber adhesive system provides quick stick and conforms to irregular and low surface energy (LSE) materials. The adhesive is protected by a peel-away liner that can be removed at the time of application or left in place until the joining surfaces are ready to be attached.
