VPM Series Medical-Grade Power Transformers

Triad Magnetics introduces the VPM series of medical-grade toroidal isolation transformers offering both 4 KV of dielectric isolation and low-voltage step-down. The VPM series' single-transformer solution leads to fewer parts and higher efficiency than using the typical space- and time-consuming solution of using a standard 1:1 isolation transformer placed in front of a non-medically rated design.

The UL recognized VPM series are rated from 25 VA to 10 KVA, 50/60 Hz. Their shielded toroidal construction with flux band reduces stray fields while minimizing size and increasing efficiency compared to EI transformers. Additionally, they are offered with resettable over-temperature protection. 3D models are available for all VPM transformers, enabling users to check each unit's fit in drawings, thereby saving time and money.

VPM series 25 VA to 2.5 KVA VPM transformers come with input taps for 100 V_AC, 120 V_AC, 220 V_AC, and 240 V_AC. Models are offered with voltage outputs of 6 V_AC, 9 V_AC, 12 V_AC, 15 V_AC, 18 V_AC, 24 V_AC, 30 V_AC, 36 V_AC, 48 V_AC, or 120 V_AC. The many voltage choices are available for these smaller-sized transformers because these transformers are more likely to be put into a piece of equipment to allow the user to eliminate an additional isolation transformer.

The larger 3,000 VA to 10,000 VA VPM transformers can be used to power several pieces of equipment that require an input of 120 V_AC or 240 V_AC (the output of the VPM transformer). The inputs to these transformers are 208 V_AC or 240 V_AC.
