The ROHM RPR-0730 ultra-compact analog optical sensor features an infrared vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (IR VCSEL) paired with a high-performance phototransistor. Designed to detect the presence of nearby objects or people by capturing reflected light, this tiny 2.0 mm x 1.0 mm x 0.55 mm surface-mount device delivers reliable analog output and a detection range of up to 10 mm. Its impressive 0.1 mm line-width accuracy at a 1 mm object distance, combined with a visible-light cutoff, micro-slit structure for minimal internal light leakage, and a built-in Zener diode, ensures stable and precise sensing performance.
