SFA40 Miniature Formaldehyde Sensor — Coming Soon!

The Sensirion SFA40 compact, ultra-low power, high selectivity formaldehyde sensor is engineered for next level indoor air quality monitoring

Image of Sensirion SFA40 Miniature Formaldehyde SensorSensirion SFA40 high performance formaldehyde sensor delivers exceptional sensitivity, selectivity, and long term stability in an extremely compact form factor. Building on the success of the SFA30, the SFA40 introduces a breakthrough electrochemical sensing platform designed to accurately detect formaldehyde concentrations as low as tens of parts per billion. This enables precise monitoring of one of the most common and hazardous indoor air pollutants — formaldehyde, which is emitted from furniture, flooring, paints, and household products.

Engineered in Switzerland, the SFA40 is optimized for seamless integration into modern indoor air quality devices, including air purifiers, HVAC systems, and portable monitors. Its miniature 10 mm × 13 mm × 2.4 mm package unlocks new design possibilities in space-constrained environments, while its exceptionally low power consumption makes it ideal for battery-powered and always-on applications.

The SFA40 provides a fully calibrated, digital output via an I²C interface, ensuring consistent accuracy throughout the sensor’s lifetime. With ultra-high selectivity — less than 0.3% cross sensitivity to ethanol — and robust compensation algorithms, the sensor reliably distinguishes harmful formaldehyde from other volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The Sensirion precision manufacturing and factory calibration guarantees long term performance, making the SFA40 a game changing solution for next generation indoor air quality systems.
