RA8T1 Arm® Cortex®-M85 Core MCU

Renesas' RA8T1 Arm Cortex-M85 core MCU family is designed for applications that require real-time controls such as motor or inverter controls. The MCU delivers extremely high performance with a 480 MHz operating core, Helium™ technology, and abundant peripheral support for advanced real-time applications with added value. These specialized MCUs have an optimized feature set to address diverse real-time controls including motors, power supplies, and more in industrial automation (IA), building automation (BA), and smart home (HA) markets.

Demands for higher performance and lower power consumption in embedded equipment for real-time applications are increasing continuously, as well as more MCU calculation capability. The RA8T1 MCUs operate at up to 480 MHz and with Helium technology can realize extreme calculating performance. This unprecedented performance brings additional value including AI features to end applications.

For motor controls, the RA8T1 MCUs have 14-channel PWM timers that operate at 120 MHz, two A/D converters and 3-channel sample-and-hold (only for ADC unit0), 2-channel analog comparators, a port output enable circuit, and more. These features enable lower power consumption of the overall system. The various communication features include Ethernet MAC, CAN FD, USB FS, and I²C/I³C to enable connectivity with other devices.
