The value range for Stackpole's CSRF0402 series of metal foil on ceramic current sensing resistors has recently been extended down to 3 mΩ. This is among the lowest resistance values currently available in the 0402 chip size. The CSRF0402 has an operating temperature range of -55°C to +175°C, TCR of 200 ppm, and outstanding power handling capability up to 0.125 W. Higher power versions are also available. The outstanding performance of the CSRF0402 is ideal for a variety of small size portable power and battery management applications, small motor drives, voltage regulators, LED lighting, portable test instruments, portable scanners, and portable power tools.

CSRF0603 Series

Stackpole Electronics' CSRF0603 series has recently been extended down to a 2.5 mΩ value with low TCR of 75 ppm. The CSRF0603 has an operating temperature range of -55°C to +175°C, and outstanding power handling capability up to 0.25 W. This performance is ideal for a variety of portable power and battery management applications, small motor drives, voltage regulators, LED lighting, portable test instruments, portable scanners, and portable power tools.

CSRF0805 Series

The CSRF0805 series from Stackpole is manufactured using a metal foil-on-ceramic carrier technology. With standard thick film resistor technology, it is difficult to achieve low resistance values and low temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) in small chip sizes. The metal foil-on-ceramic technology makes it possible to reach resistance values down to 10 mΩ with TCR of 50 ppm. In addition, the ceramic carrier ensures optimum placement speed and accuracy due to its rigid structure and precise dimensions.

Applications include many types of portable power supplies, battery management, voltage regulators, barcode scanners, portable communications devices, portable medical diagnostic and imaging equipment, instrumentation, industrial controls, and lighting.
