Diese Steckleisten enthalten Stifte in einem Kunststoffsockel und ermöglichen den Board-zu-Board-Anschluss, indem sie mit einem rechteckigen Kabelsteckverbinder oder einer Buchsenleiste verbunden werden. Sie sind mit einer Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Positionen und Raster erhältlich. Bei einigen Modellen lässt sich die Positionsanzahl durch Abreißen einfach manuell ändern. Es sind sowohl verkleidete Steckleisten mit 1 bis 4 Wänden als auch unverkleidete Steckleisten erhältlich. Mögliche Montagetypen sind unter anderem Panel-, Platinenrand-, Stapel-, Oberflächen- und Durchsteckmontage.
